Considered to be one of Israel`s greatest painters. He was highly influenced by Paul Klee as well as by old masters, such as Rembrandt and El Greco. Ardon studied both at the Bauhaus and at the Munich Academy, institutions with very different emphases. These dual, seemingly contradicting elements forged the character of his painting throughout the 70 years of his artistic career – a modern-expressionist with classical painting technique. Ardon`s technique involves deep and rich colors, which he uses in non-figurative, often abstract paintings that include geometric forms, mystical allusions, Jewish symbols and Hebrew letters, reflecting his background in pre-holocaust Poland.
