Morgan Bible (M.638, fol. 012va): Sisera given Milk by Jael ; Sisera killed by Jael
Three stages in Jael and Sisera’s story:
To the left, Sisera, crowned and armed with a sword, drinks milk from a bowl received by Jael.
At the center: Sisera lies covered in a bed beneath a curtain. Jael, who stands above him, places a tent peg on his head and raises a hammer in her right hand.
To the right: Jael, with hammer in her left hand, looks toward Barak and three armed soldiers and shows them Sisera’s body .
