Binding of Isaac
Abraham, seen from the back, raises the knife in his right hand. The mature Isaac, mostly hidden from view by Abraham, lies bound on the altar. A winged angel descends from the sky, his arms outstretched. To the right is a small ram, whose horns are caught in the branches of a tree. Above a royal crown and a glowing eye symbolize God’s exalted glory and omnipresence.
